But he certainly captured the essence of baseball in American life. It's is still America's game even though more youngsters today seem to love American football and basketball more. Interestingly, soccer is catching on more and more in middle America, especially among white boys not big enough for American football and not tall enough for basketball. Soccer is not a good game to come to late in life as a spectator.
